When we train, the day -to -day routine usually "eat" the desire, time or even the part of the program that supports the general conglomerate of exercises. That is why it is important to introduce specific days for specific exercises focused on improving capacities, movement ranges or alterations in our routines that cause us new stimuli.
This is something we can get, for example, with special bars. It is understood, normally, by special bars those that differ from the ones we use on a day -to -day basis for most of our exercises.
In Crossfit, functional training or halephilia would be the 20 kilos Olympic, 220 centimeters in length and a 28mm grip diameter for boys. Its female version weighs 15 kilos, measures 210 centimeters and the grip is 25mm.
But what special bars can we find in some sports facilities and why should we use them?
Safety Bar
It is a bar designed to work the squat. It has a U -shaped pad that surrounds our head from which 2 mangoes also come out, so we do not have to hold the bar, it is quite supported and it is difficult to move. In addition, the discs are not on the same axis of the bar but that it bends at right angles causing the weight of these to be slightly advanced.
Thus we work a rear squat but with the weight somewhat advanced, which demands less hip mobility and less back pressure. It can also help people with little mobility to simulate a front squat without the complications in the clamping of the bar.
Hexagonal bar
This bar, depending on the manufacturer, can be completely hexagonal and we must get inside to use it, while others only have half -hexagon.
There are also hexagonal bars with simple grip, in which the grip has a single thickness and others that are multiagarre, in which it can be altered to generate different stimuli.
On its use, this is very focused on dead weight, and it has been shown that it helps improve strength, power and speed on the lower train.
But they can also be used for movements such as the Farmer Carry, squat with Salto or Seal Rows.
Z bar
It is used for biceps and triceps exercises, it is a bar whose grip area is curved at different angles. These angles facilitate the curl movements causing them to be less harmful to the wrists because they are left in a very neutral grip.
They usually weigh 10 kg and its length is around the meter and a half.
Axle bar
Although its use is closely related to Strongman's sport, we can all benefit from this bar that is characterized in that its sleeves do not rotate, but even more because of its grip thickness that is 48mm something to get used to. With that we will work a lot of our grip.
You can perform dead weights, push press, or bank press. This discomfort will help us when we then use our usual bar again.
Farmer Walk Bar
This bar is specifically designed to run Farmer Carrys. It is characterized by the fact that it has a handle that leaves the center of the bar, which allows us to take it as a suitcase. In this case the sleeves do not turn either.
To use it, it is to do it with two bars at the same time to compensate for the weight.
As you can see there are many options, today we have only tried to teach those that are easier to find in stores and sports facilities. But the world of special bars is much deeper and has varieties that would not even imagine and that we will tell you in future articles.
Have you tried any of these bars? Are there at your training premises?
